Matinee Heroes is a podcast dedicated to exploring hero cinema - from adventurers, heroes, and superheroes; from Jedi to buddy cops; from the Wild West, to the distant past, to futures both hopeful and dystopian, from ancient lands to the deepest reaches of outer space. In a time when we need heroes more than ever, Alan and Craig will try to understand just what makes our cinematic heroes tick, and how we can use that heroism in our everyday life.

New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison launches a controversial investigation into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Challenging the official "single assassin" and "magic bullet" theories that have long haunted the nation, Garrison becomes suspicious of the official explanation and delves into a web of conspiracy theories, uncovering alleged government involvement and cover-ups.

THE GHOST AND THE DARKNESS

Sir Robert Beaumont is behind schedule on a railroad in Africa. Enlisting noted engineer John Henry Patterson to right the ship, Beaumont expects results. Everything seems great until the crew discovers the mutilated corpse of the project's foreman, seemingly killed by a lion. After several more attacks, Patterson calls in famed hunter Charles Remington who has finally met his match in the bloodthirsty lions.
